4th-6th Grade Recognition Awards

In alignment with the changes in the grading practices to Standards Based Grading, the awards upper grade students can earn have changed as of the 2019-2020 school year. Listed below are the schedule of awards that will be presented in the classroom or at the semester award ceremonies.  

1st Semester: 

Westside Scholar:  Issued to students who meet or exceed standards in English Language Arts or Mathematics as determined by the annual California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress .  Awarded first semester by site administrator.

College and Career Readiness:  Issued to students who demonstrate mastery of ALL  College and Career Readiness standards.  Awarded first and/or second semester by the site administrator.

 

2nd Semester: 

Content Achievement Award:  This award is issued to students who demonstrate mastery of ALL standards in any one or more content area.  Awarded second semester by the classroom teacher.

Academic Honors: This award is issued to students who demonstrate mastery of ALL standards in ALL academic content areas.  Awarded second semester by the site administrator.

High Honors: This award is issued to students who demonstrate mastery of ALL standards in ALL academic content areas AND demonstrate exemplary skills in ALL College and Career Readiness areas. Awarded second semester by the site administrator.

Site Award: NWEA Growth- This award is given to students who met or exceeded their growth goal on the NWEA in Reading, Math, or Language.

Site Award: SADDLE UP Awards- This award is given to a student in each grade level who exemplifies a letter from SADDLE UP.
